As one of the earliest proponents of the procurement outsourcing market, Gareth has architected and delivered complex procurement solutions for organisations across the globe, working for firms such as PwC and Accenture.”
“I learned about Proxima at a CIPS event and was instantly attracted to the variety of clients, categories, and projects. I secured a paid internship and knew it would be a great way to build a broad set of knowledge and skills at an advanced pace. Internship roles with other companies followed a structured rotation program based on the time spent in each department. Proxima’s offering is more flexible and focused on your personal aspirations.
After graduating, I joined Proxima’s Graduate placement. For me, the opportunity to travel was a huge attraction. I have now lived and worked in London, Manchester, Leeds, Chicago and New York. I never imagined my career would propel so quickly. I was promoted to Procurement Advisor after just one year, having more responsibility for strategic projects and providing solutions to more complex client challenges. Having spent a lot of time focused on my studies and career I was looking for some time to travel. Proxima were very flexible and agreed to allow a four week sabbatical where I travelled the East Coast of Australia with friends.
After returning from travelling I was offered a secondment as a Sourcing Manager for Proxima’s US office based in Chicago. My first US project was a multi-million dollar facilities projects for a large retailer with 8000+ stores. Adjusting to a new country, culture and client had its challenges but the experience has been fantastic.”
